Model Concours at the Summer Convention 2023

Something many members may not realize is that part of the annual convention is a Model Car Concours. This is a fun event, allowing members to sign-up to display their Corvair (or Corvair based) models for concours competition. Corvair based models means the entries must have Corvair content or a Corvair-based theme. These model entries may include promos, tin toys, Corgi/Matchbox/Hot Wheels (or other toys), scale model kits (or parts thereof; including plastic, resin, 3D printed, or paper), dioramas, or valve cover gravity racers.
Models are classed as stock or modified (including scratch built or kit-bashed models). Models will be judged on typical model car contest standards; variable depending on class: parts preparation, skill of assembly, seam filling/ leveling, painting, decals, and weathering. In addition, the modelers are grouped as Junior (under 16) or Senior (16 or over), so everybody may fairly compete.
The Model Concours Rules will be supplied in the convention packets, or may be downloaded from the CORSA site at:
CORSA Rules, Forms, Etc. / Policies & Procedures / CORSA Event Rules & Procs / Model Car Concours Rules.
In addition, on the same page is the Model Car Concours judging form, showing the specific qualities per class being judged.
Please consider bringing your Corvair models to the show; and enjoy seeing what other members have built and brought to the Concours.
